Be lazy, get comfortable on your sofa, and binge-watch your favorite show. It sounds attractive, doesn’t it? What if I tell you that you can use this situation to learn a language while relaxing?!
When I was a child, there used to be a limited number of channels on our TV and not so many interesting shows to follow. However, there were a few soap operas, or “telenovelas”, in Spanish and Portuguese and they were with subtitles in my native language. I remember how we used to watch the same show with a few girlfriends, memorizing phrases, and then repeating them when we met on the playground. It was fun, and we had the motivation – we tried to act and say the phrases exactly the way the actors did.
So, my love with languages goes way back. And my love for watching something that catches my eye and mind is still helping today with new languages. And today I’m planning on sharing the Spanish shows I love and watch and rewatch from time to time.
